Welcome to Our New Minister
We are very happy to welcome Rev Clare Lind to Tawa Union. She will be inducted on 4 February 2010. Clare and family are moving from Miramar where Clare was the minister. Clare has a particular interest in young people and has published a book of reflections and prayers.
Welcome Clare and family and we trust that your time with us will be enrichening for all as we jouney for together.
Faith Explorers
We are a group of ordinary people who meet for a tea/coffee on Monday evenings and then explore aspects of our faith in a non threatening environment. The banter and discussion is often lively and entertaining – who suggested that religion was boring or had to be serious! This year we are going to have 4 - 6 weeks sessions on a particular topic and then a break before starting again. To start this year we will consider the book “Saving Jesus from the Church” by Robin Meyers, published in 2009 that seeks to re-construct the good news of Christianity using the terminology and world view of the 21st century.
The session on Monday 8 March 7:30pm in Luke Chapel/Lounge will consider Chapt 2 of Saving Jesus entitled "Faith as Being, Not Belief". All most welcome.
