Sunday Worship

Different styles of worship are offered on Sundays at Tawa Union plus a Tongan language service.  The styles are complementary and seek to provide alternative way for people to worship.

Sunday at 8:30am

This is a quiet service with the celebration of communion at its centre.  It is informal but structured in a relaxed environment by meeting in Stephens Lounge.  The service includes Bible readings, a 5-10 minute message of the week, prayer and a couple of traditional hymns including the Breaking of Bread and the Pouring of Wine.  The service lasts only 30 - 35 minutes and is ideal for those with a busy day ahead or those who work on Sundays to take some time out from the day's schedule.

If you have time there is an opportunity to meet fellow worshippers over a cup of tea or coffee and to greet those coming for the later services as they start to arrive.

Meet in the Stephens Lounge at The Centre from 8:25am

Messy Church at 9:15 am

This was intiated in Oct 09 to provide a more contemporary and attreactive setting and content so that children would to want to attend.   The target age groups are from pre -school to mid secondary.  We start with an informal pgames time as people turn up.  There is then some activities that everone does together and then break into (age) groups to undertake some activiy related today's bible story or bibical character or church season and a discussion for the older age group.  We then then join the 9:30am service to share and finsh together.  This is a  great opportunity for families to come and introduce children (or grand parents) children to church in a very non-threatening way.  Parent and grand parents are welcome to stay with their children in Messy Church.

A traditional service format but with a contemporary content to inspire and challenge. This worship takes place in the Church at The Centre.
